Star Ready to Join – Man Utd ready to secure ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’ with lucrative five-year contract planned

Paul Scholes recently compared Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho to a youthful Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United is negotiating a new deal for Alejandro Garnacho, who has been compared to a younger version of teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. The Argentine shone as his team defeated Sheriff 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday. And it appears that the Red Devils want to maintain hold of the adolescent, who has piqued the eye of Europe’s elite.

Garnacho was one of the standout performers on the field as United defeated Sheriff 3-0 thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

And, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are trying hard to sign the kid to a new contract.

“Work in progress to extend Alejandro Garnacho’s contract, conversations have been ongoing for a month,” Romano stated on Twitter.

“Manchester United’s new long-term contract proposal has been ready since June.”

United is ready to offer Garnacho a lucrative five-year contract in the hope that he will stay at Old Trafford.

The Argentine has piqued Real Madrid’s interest, and he’s also been linked with European powerhouses Juventus and Barcelona.

Despite the fact that Garnacho’s current contract expires in 2025, it appears that United are confident in offering him a new contract.

The Argentine joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after catching the attention of club scouts while playing for the La Liga giants.

Garnacho helped United win the FA Youth Cup last season, scoring twice in a 3-1 triumph over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

And he was rewarded for several outstanding training performances with his maiden senior start against Sheriff, where he impressed with an entertaining display.

Former Manchester United great Paul Scholes compared Garnacho to a young Ronaldo when commentating on the match.

“This crowd like entertainment and this young man provided plenty of it. “At this age, he’s almost like a young Cristiano,” he added.

“Taking the skill, dropping the ball as he did.” I was impressed because some wingers can only go one way, and he’s a right-footed winger.

“Some say you can’t go down that left side, but he did, and it’s what makes him so unpredictable.” His performance was thrilling, and he is definitely one to watch in the future.”

Garnacho has now made five appearances for United after making his debut last season under Ralf Rangnick.

And Ten Hag praised his performance against Sheriff, stating that he’s turned things around after first failing to impress him.

“I thought he gave a good performance. “He performed exactly what I wanted him to do,” remarked United’s manager.

“In the last few weeks, he’s had a better attitude, more resilience, more drive, and what you see is he’s a skill for dealing with the ball in tight spaces, running behind, and especially his tempo dribbles – he can take players on and that’s a strong capability in his football.”

“He deserves his chance, but there is still a lot of potential for growth, particularly in the defending, pressing counter-pressing, and defense transition.”

“However, you can see that he can find answers in tight spaces.”

Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves praised Garnacho for his superb effort in his maiden United start.

“He was fantastic,” said the former midfielder.

“What I loved about this performance was that he was direct, demonstrated good pieces of talent and tricks with a little bit of function, and he was just lacking a goal or an assist.”

“He was the most effective of the front players, and I had a lot of fun watching him.”
