Following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw away at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night, Thierry Henry slammed the club’s players.

United struggled to a draw against Diego Simeone’s side at the Wanda Metropolitano, but Anthony Elanga’s late equalizer saved the day.

Joao Felix’s magnificent header from Renan Lodi’s acrobatic cross put Atleti 1-0 up in the seventh minute, and the home side dominated the first 45 minutes.

Despite being overwhelmed for long stretches of the game, Ralf Rangnick’s team will return to Old Trafford with a real chance of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals as 19-year-old replacement Elanga held his cool to finish past Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

“He’s playing as if it’s a dream come true, it’s a joy and excitement to see him play, I wish a few other players would take him as an example and a role model,” Rangnick told reporters after the game, according to Sky Sports. “Football is an essential sport, especially for the fans, and it is a ball game.” This is what I would like to see us do, especially in the second leg.”

What did Thierry Henry have to say about Manchester United’s players?
In the CBS Sports studio, Arsenal and Premier League veteran Henry criticized United’s players, claiming it’s past time for them to start performing.

“Their style of play is not United’s. I’m not familiar with the United. “I’m not sure what it is,” Henry said.

“I don’t usually like to criticize players, but they had a teacher like Louis van Gaal, then they called [Jose] Mourinho a dictator because he was too direct with the players and they didn’t like it, then you had [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer, who’s more of a dad, a nice guy, and now you have [Rangnick],” the Frenchman added.
