MARCOS LLORENTE MOVED WITH MAN UTD

Manchester United is reportedly looking to sign Marcos Llorente before Liverpool in January.

Atletico Madrid has put the 27-year-old midfielder up for sale following the club’s inability to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.

Indeed, Madrid finished last in Group B, trailing Porto, Club Brugges, and Bayer Leverkusen. And, with no Europa League football to fall back on, it’s a huge blow for Diego Simeone’s team.

As a result, according to Spanish media, Llorente has been made available ahead of the January transfer window.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past.

According to Mundo Deportivo, a move to Old Trafford is the most likely consequence. According to sources, Erik ten Hag is a great fan of the athlete, who had his best season yet last season.

Llorente scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists while playing in an advanced midfield role. And, as a No. 8, he provides a wide range of passing and vision in the center of the field.

To that aim, Llorente is a clear upgrade over Donny van de Beek.

On Sunday, he made his first Premier League start for United in 701 days, against Aston Villa.

However, Van van Beek struggled and was replaced after 65 minutes.

Few would miss him at Old Trafford if he was linked with a move to Leicester.

ARSENAL MANAGERS ARE READY TO FUND A DOUBLE JANUARY DEAL

Arsenal’s owners are prepared to make significant investments in their squad in January in order to put the Gunners over the top.

Mikel Arteta’s side returned to the top of the Premier League with what was maybe their most spectacular performance to date – a 1-0 victory over Chelsea. After the game, Rio Ferdinand called Arsenal the “genuine deal,” with another analyst naming four of their most impressive players.

However, Arteta recognizes that his side will need to be strengthened more if they are to keep up with Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s team beat Fulham 2-1 despite being reduced to 10 men for long stretches. And Arteta is well aware that his team cannot afford to take its foot off the accelerator if they are to win their first title since 2004.

Arteta spent roughly £125 million on five new players over the summer. He was unable to sign the center midfielder and winger he desired.

But, with the January transfer window opening in just 55 days, preparations are already in the works for two potential recruits.
