Man Utd star Marcus Rashford tipped to take ‘two-month break’ as he ‘doesn’t want to play’

Former Aston Villa captain Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Manchester United star Marcus Rashford would accept a two-month vacation from football if offered one. Rashford has struggled for form at Manchester United this season, leading to his exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s last England selection.

This season, the 24-year-old has made just ten Premier League starts. Since Ralf Rangnick took over as temporary manager at Old Trafford, he has been unable to establish himself as a regular.

Rashford, according to Agbonlahor, has struck a despondent figure in recent weeks. According to the analyst, the forward appears to be uninterested in playing football right now.

And he claims Rashford would be willing to take a sabbatical from the game. “I don’t know, he just looks like he doesn’t like football,” Agbonlahor remarked on talkSPORT.

“He appears to be a player who is currently playing but does not want to play football.” Rashford, in my opinion, does not fit on the right side of midfield.

“He has to play as a center-forward or on the left side, and I prefer him to cut in on the left. Rashford has been fantastic coming in from the left wing, but he appears to be a guy who does not want to play football this season.

“If you told him he could take two months off to clear his thoughts, I believe he’d take it.” He doesn’t appear to desire to play football.

“He’s not excited, and he’s not smiling. He used to constantly be cheerful, but now he’s grumpy.”

Rashford was embroiled in a scuffle following Manchester United’s Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid last week. He appeared to be offended by a remark hurled at him by a supporter.

Later that week, the forward described the situation on Twitter. Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright, though, believes Rashford did not need to talk publicly about it.

Wright erupted in a rage and yelled: “I’m not sure who’s doing it, dude, who’s apologizing for them. What in the f*** is he apologizing for?

“These people are eager to apologize and say, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry.’ That’s what fuels these followers’ belief that they can simply dig people out.

“Marcus, hold your ground. You’ve got people saying, ‘Oh Marcus, you’re so sorry’ – don’t be f****ng sorry for that, man.

“Some of those fans enjoy giving it, but they can’t take it, guy. You just do your thing, man, and go back to where you need to be where you’re playing.”
