£30m Deadline Medical Booked – Man Utd top target given ‘green light’ to ‘undergo medical’ after ‘late-night breakthrough’

According to sources, Manchester United are likely to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who has been granted the 'the light' to 'undergo a physical'.

Throughout the summer, it has been widely rumored that Amrabat is one of United’s key summer objectives, with Erik ten Hag expecting to reunite with the talented midfielder.

Last season, the Moroccan international drew the interest of clubs all across Europe after shining for Fiorentina at the World Cup and in Europe.

After spending over £150 million to recruit Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund, it has been stated that Manchester United must shed some undesired players before increasing their interest in Amrabat.

Donny van de Beek is expected to join the likes of Anthony Elanga, Fred, Alex Telles, and David De Gea in leaving the club this summer.

Man United were rumoured to have made a loan approach for Amrabat on Wednesday, but Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio later stated that Fiorentina will ‘ reject all loan offers’ for the centre-midfielder.

United were apparently exploring a loan deal to avoid Financial Fair Play difficulties, but Football Insider now claims that they have ‘ made a breakthrough in their pursuit to sign Fiorentina midfielder Amrabat’.

According to the report, Amrabat has been ‘given the go light by the Italian club to travel to Manchester for talks and a physical’. They continue.

Man United fans, though, need not get too thrilled just yet. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, they “didn’t send an official bid” to Fiorentina on Wednesday, but the Italian club “would accept a loan-to-buy deal”.

“Despite reports, I’m told that Manchester United have not sent any loan deal bids for Sofyan Amrabat,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“The only thing that happened yesterday was that Manchester United had conversations with Fiorentina through intermediaries.” They did not submit an official proposal, but Fiorentina has stated that they are open to a loan move, but only if there is an obligation to purchase provision. They essentially want a permanent transfer and would accept a loan-to-purchase arrangement.

“So it’s now on United, but there is currently no loan bid, which all of my sources deny.” Let’s see what happens, but for the time being, Amrabat remains a major target for Manchester United, and negotiations will continue.”
