Raphael Varane has been left out of Manchester United’s 22-man squad for Thursday’s game against Omonia.

Varane suffered an injury against Manchester City over the weekend and did not participate in training at Carrington on Wednesday morning, which occurred before Erik ten Hag confirmed his absence at his pre-match press conference.

“Yes, in the case of Rapha [Varane], we hope,” Ten Hag stated when questioned about United’s team news, confirming the MEN’s exclusive that his injury was not serious. “Harry [Maguire] will take a little longer, and I can’t say anything about the other two [Van de Beek and Wan-Bissaka].”

Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka did not practice on Wednesday and will not be traveling to Cyprus. The only center-backs traveling with the group are Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez, and they are poised to start the game.

United teenagers Zidane Iqbal, Facundo Pellistri, and Alejandro Garnacho were nominated to Omonia’s 22-man squad, only 24 hours after competing for the U21s against Barrow in the English Football League Trophy group stage.

On Tuesday night, the Reds’ U21s overcame Barrow 2-1, with Charlie McNeill and Garnacho scoring.

United’s 22-man traveling squad consists of:

De Gea, Heaton, and Dubravka are the goalkeepers.

Lindelof, Martinez, Malacia, Dalot, and Shaw are the defenders.

Fernandes, Eriksen, Fred, Casemiro, McTominay, and Iqbal are the midfielders.

Ronaldo, Martial, Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Pellistri, Elanga, and Garnacho are the forwards.
