Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick urged to sell player who could get him ‘the sack’

Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United’s interim manager, has been asked to trade Anthony Martial as soon as possible. Last week, Martial’s agent stated that the player wants to leave in January. So far this season, the Frenchman has only made two Premier League starts.

Martial fell out of favor under previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and early indications suggest he will not be a regular under Rangnick.

Following his arrival from Monaco in 2015, United had high expectations for the forward.

However, his Old Trafford career has come to a halt in the last 12 months.

Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, told Sky Sports last Friday that the star wants to leave next month.

Anthony wants to quit the club in January, according to Lamboley.

“All he has to do now is play. He has stated that he would not be staying in January, and I will speak with the club as soon as possible.”

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan thinks United should get rid of Martial as soon as possible.

Jordan believes Martial is the type of player who, if kept on the team, may force Rangnick to resign.

“Get the cab ready and get Martial in it as soon as you possibly can,” Jordan remarked on talkSPORT.

“Because I believe Martial is one of those players who will cause you to lose your job.

“I believe he is the quintessential Manchester United player of the last half-decade who, on paper, appears to be a brilliant player with all the skills, but who, when it comes down to it, has a pea-sized heart.

“If I’m United, he wants to go, so good riddance.”

Over the weekend, Rangnick was asked about Lamboley’s remarks against Martial.

He asserted, though, that he was unaware of the player’s wish to quit.

Rangnick remarked, “I don’t engage with agents through the media and press.” “The player hasn’t discussed it with me or with us.

“He notified the doctor and the medical department that he would not be available after the final training session before the Crystal Palace game because the discomfort in his knee was too severe. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

“He might be able to exercise again [on Sunday], but I need to consult with the doctor beforehand. To be honest, I’m not really interested in what his agent says in the media.”
