Contacts between Manchester United’s board and agent Miguel Pinho are believed to have been frequent and ‘intensified’ recently, and the agreement is now ‘nearly certain’ to be inked soon.

According to O Jogo, Fernandes will now earn between €14 million and €15 million per season. That will put him on par with Paul Pogba, but far short of Cristiano Ronaldo, who makes €20 million per year.

Manchester United’s objective, it is stated, is to make Bruno Fernandes a “reference at the club” in addition to limiting interest from other clubs.

Meanwhile, O Jogo claims that the midfielder ‘continues to think’ that the Red Devils will soon be battling for major things again and that he believes in the vision. That is why he has agreed to the extension.

Manchester United paid €63 million for Bruno Fernandes in January 2020. In 117 games for the club since then, he has had 49 goals and 38 assists.
