Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick warned on Friday that his successor Erik ten Hag will need to do “open-heart surgery” on the English giants if they are to reclaim their former grandeur.
United was beaten 4-0 by Liverpool in midweek, dropping them to sixth place in the rankings, 23 points behind champions and neighbors Manchester City.
They will also face an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League next season.
