The Norwegian international has accepted personal terms with City, who beat out Real Madrid and pretty much every other major club in Europe to sign the 21-year-old striker.
Dortmund revealed to Sport1 shortly after the move that they had given Haaland permission to leave the training site to address an issue.
“The players have no training today, and we have permitted Erling to attend to personal concerns,” the club said in a statement.
Haaland has yet to sign his City contract, but the parameters of an agreement have already been agreed, with the striker receiving a base income comparable to Kevin De Bruyne, as well as the bonuses required to make him the club’s highest earner when all is said and done.
Pep Guardiola has already spoken with the striker about how he might fit into City’s lineup, which hasn’t used a classic number nine on a regular basis since the summer of 2020 when Sergio Aguero’s injury problems derailed his 2020/21 season.
Haaland is said to be pleased with Guardiola’s vision for him and is now ready to put pen to paper and put an end to this transfer odyssey.
