FRENKIE DE JONG GETS A WAGE OFFER FROM MAN UTD

According to a source, Manchester United is willing to pay Frenkie de Jong a big weekly wage if he signs from Barcelona this summer.

Erik ten Hag hopes to strengthen his midfield options in the coming months as Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic prepare to leave Old Trafford.

De Jong is a high-quality player who would almost certainly join the United team right away.

Ten Hag is familiar with the Dutchman from their time together at Ajax. And if De Jong is given a chance at United, he might be paired alongside Donny van de Beek in midfield next season.

According to recent sources, United has instructed De Jong to make a decisive choice on his future. They don’t want to be kept waiting since it will interfere with Ten Hag’s plans for preseason and the upcoming season.

According to the Daily Star, United are willing to make De Jong their highest-paid player, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea.

He will be offered a long-term contract earning £395,000 per week, or almost £20.54 million per year.

According to the article, this is more than Ronaldo and de Gea, who earn £300,000 and £375,000 per week, respectively. De Jong’s prospective earnings are also higher than those of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

The 25-year-old midfielder must now determine how he wants to spend the next few years of his career.

He can stay in Barcelona and contribute to Xavi’s project at the Nou Camp, or he can take a risk and switch for Ten Hag’s one in Manchester.

Either way, he’ll be joining a team that needs a few years to mature. However, United’s ambitious goals indicate that Ten Hag will be given new players to significantly improve the squad, making it an attractive alternative.
