The Premier League’s executives declared earlier this week on its official website that they have ‘agreed in principle to bring Norway’s Haaland to England’s top flight.

After edging out Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the Citizens will soon be able to boast that they have one of the sport’s most productive forwards on their books.

Indeed, City is so pleased with their latest acquisition that, according to ESPN, the Citizens’ squad has already begun planning for life with the Norway international.

After learning that the club has agreed to activate the striker’s €60 million (£51 million) release clause, players joked that the striker’s modest fee is even less than the £53 million fee rivals Manchester United paid Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Fred in 2018.

Fred, 29, is frequently subjected to unjust criticism, but given his exorbitant price tag four years ago, the Brazilian midfielder has become an easy target when comparing players’ value for money.

Unfortunately, it’s tough not to admit that the Citizens have stolen Haaland.

The prolific striker will certainly be an instant success in the Premier League and might be the missing piece in Pep Guardiola’s Champions League puzzle.

Only time will tell, but it’s difficult to envision Haaland failing to score frequently.
