Leandro Trossard has had a flying start to the season and he accentuated that last weekend with a fine hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield.
In new manager Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge, Trossard stood out with a couple of well-taken goals, and speculation about his future at the club is rife.
Brighton are renowned for their long-term planning and ability to scout talent years in advance, and Trossard is one of them, having shone in the Premier League with the club.
Now, after a few years of consistency under coaches such as Graham Potter, the league’s top clubs are eyeing up the player and may be interested in him soon.
Trossard talks about his future
Trossard’s contract at the Amex Stadium runs out at the end of this season, but Brighton have the option of extending his stay for another year and are ready to take advantage.
However, Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the situation, with the intention of taking the Seagulls player in the near future to strengthen their teams.
However, Trossard remains tight-lipped about his future and remains positive about the next few months at Brighton under De Zerbi.
“It’s hard to say anything about it now,” he told the Monday Night Club when asked about his future at the club.
“It completely depends on the club coming in. If I feel good and things go well privately… but I also know how good I am at Brighton, also with the new coach Roberto De Zerbi, it’s promising,” the Belgian added.
It was thought he would follow Potter to Brighton and Chelsea when the manager moved to Stamford Bridge, but nothing has materialised so far.
“Our manager has gone to Chelsea now, but the speculation that I would follow him makes no sense. If the opportunity arises, I want to go. But I want to play and not sit on the bench,” he has said in the past.
Arsenal also remain interested as they admire his versatility and the qualities he brings to the club when needed, while Manchester United were interested in him this summer.
