Manchester United are already preparing for a busy summer transfer window.

Roque is one of Brazil’s most promising young stars, having made his senior debut at the age of 18. Now, the Athletico Paranaense star is set to face stiff transfer competition from Europe’s top clubs.

Roque, who turned 18 in February, is now permitted to leave South America for Europe. And his representatives are said to be in talks with officials from the major teams in England and Spain.

According to reports in Brazil, Roque’s agents have gone on a tour of Europe’s most prestigious clubs. Their first visit was presumably England, where they were allowed a meeting with Manchester United.

According to Globo, they also met with important figures from Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, and Aston Villa. According to the report, no official bids have been made for the prolific attacker, but two English clubs have allegedly made verbal promises to make offers.

Barca is reported to be the favorite to sign Roque, and a bid will be made soon to match those two teams. The representatives’ next stop was the La Liga champions-elect, with the agents apparently eager to learn about the ‘Barca project’ and how their client would fit into the club’s plans.

Roque sprang to popularity earlier this year when he scored eight goals for Brazil at the U20 South American Championship. In March, he made his senior international debut.

Last month, Roque remarked on a move to Europe, “I definitely feel equipped to play in Europe.” I’m working hard for it, and I’m determined to arrive as prepared as possible.”

Erik Ten Hag, United’s manager, is desperate to sign an elite center forward during the summer transfer window. Wout Weghorst was acquired on loan from Burnley as a cheap stop-gap following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in November, but the Dutchman’s performances have been criticized.

Several notable strikers have been connected with the Red Devils. United could try to entice Tottenham legend Harry Kane to Old Trafford, despite the fact that the England captain appears unlikely to sign a new contract with Spurs anytime soon.
