Manchester United fans who thought they could relax and enjoy the 2018 World Cup in Qatar were misinformed.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning interview with Piers Morgan surprised fans and cast doubt on his future. The 37-year-old Portuguese international has slammed the club’s owners, the Glazers, and manager Erik ten Hag, as well as the club’s choice, to employ ex-boss Ralf Rangnick.

Ronaldo is dominating the headlines, and more shocking revelations are expected when the whole interview is revealed on Wednesday and Thursday, along with a response from United. Here are three of the most recent talking points from Ronaldo’s incredible interview.

Ronaldo is defended by Pietersen.

England cricket legend Kevin Pietersen backed Cristiano Ronaldo’s discussion with Morgan. Pietersen is pals with Morgan and has previously chastised Ten Hag for leaving Ronaldo out of the team.

On Tuesday, Pietersen tweeted: “I saw this CR [Ronaldo] tale and, having been in a similar situation, I sympathize with him.

“People have NO IDEA what it’s like to constantly have lies and speculation printed about them. People reach their breaking points. It’s very easy to blame him, but think about it first.”

Because of Ronaldo’s lack of playing time under Ten Hag this season, Pietersen ordered United to remove a photo of him from their official Instagram profile in October. He stated, ” “Could you just remove my photo?

“I don’t want to be associated with a club run by a jerk who absolutely disrespects the greatest footballer of all time! Cristiano is in charge. That idiot, whom no one will ever remember, requires a wake-up call!”

Rangnick’s retort to Ronaldo

When asked about Rangnick, Ronaldo responded: “How are you going to manage Manchester United if you’re not even a coach? I’d never heard of him before.”

Rangnick has responded by reminding Ronaldo that he is currently the coach of Austria. He stated to reporters: “It’s not my duty to assess [Ronaldo’s words] because I’m the coach of Austria’s national team. It is the responsibility of Manchester United and sports media.”
