This season, Garner has been on loan at Nottingham Forest and has received a lot of praise for his efforts at the City Ground. During Forest’s FA Cup run, notable performances included triumphs over Arsenal and Leicester City.

The 21-year-old has made 38 appearances for the East Midlands club this season, and has steadily improved his position in the second division. The Englishman was called up to his country’s U21 squad for their qualification match against Andorra last week as a result of his on-field performances.

Garner expressed gratitude for his time in the Championship in the official England matchday programme. “I think it’s really helped me,” he said.

“I don’t think I would be where I am right now if I was still playing with the U23s at United.” It has greatly aided my development as a player. It’s given my game a whole new dimension that I didn’t realize I needed, if that makes sense.

“The Championship is a tough, tough league; it’s aggressive, and you have to have all of the fundamentals down pat before you can show off your talent.” It’s crucial, and it’s greatly aided me.”

Despite his praise for Forest, Garner emphasized the importance of United in his life, both on and off the field. When asked about the United academy, he stated, “It has helped me immensely in terms of where I am today.” “They help you not only on the field, but also off the field, in terms of how to be a good human being, which is the most essential thing.”

“As I previously stated, I would not be where I am now if it weren’t for the academy system, for which I am eternally grateful.” I had the good fortune to play a handful of games in the Europa League a few years ago, and I learned a lot from it.

“It was one of the strangest atmospheres I’ve ever played in, playing away from home in Belgrade.” It’s just fun to play in games like that, especially when you’re up against some of the best and most well-known players in the world.

“It’s a lot to process. I believe it has made me a better person.”
