The right-back, who has been sidelined since early September, has taken a significant step forward by resuming light training sessions.

While Wan-Bissaka won’t be ready to make his comeback in the upcoming match against City, his return is not far off.

Since his £50 million move from Crystal Palace in 2019, Wan-Bissaka has been a dependable presence in United’s backline, making his impending return a welcome sight for the team.

Although the Carabao Cup tie with Newcastle next week may still be too early for his return, it’s possible that we’ll see Wan-Bissaka back in action in early November.

If his progress continues positively, he could even be part of the traveling squad to face Copenhagen away from home, with The Mail reporting that he is approximately 10 days away from being match-ready.

Wan-Bissaka’s return will bolster Manchester United in two key positions. Initially competing for his place at right-back, where he started the season as the first choice, his backup, Diogo Dalot, has performed well and may aim to secure his spot.

Dalot’s versatility is advantageous, allowing him to shift to the left-back position, where he was playing before Wan-Bissaka’s injury.

United’s left-back options have been limited due to Luke Shaw’s injury and Tyrell Malacia’s absence. However, there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon, as Malacia was also spotted in light training earlier this week.

This could lead to a significant double boost for Manchester United, strengthening both full-back positions.
