Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick recommends four transfer targets in Ed Woodward meeting

According to rumors, Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has proposed four transfer targets to Ed Woodward and John Murtough. The 63-year-old has been hired to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer until the conclusion of the season, after which he will serve as a consultant for the next two years.

Manchester United has squandered a lot of cash in recent years.

During Solskjaer’s first summer in charge, he signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, and Daniel James, with Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri, and Amad joining the following year.

Then, in the summer, Manchester United splashed out on players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho.

Despite their investment, the Red Devils are still no match for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea in terms of Premier League title contention.

During recent meetings with Woodward and Murtough, Rangnick reportedly identified four prospects, three of whom were midfielders.

According to reports, he instructed the Red Devils duo that RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara should be watched closely by scouts.

The midfielder has shone for the Bundesliga heavyweights in recent years and has a £33 million release clause, making him reasonably priced.

United requires more grit in the middle of the park, especially with Fred’s inconsistency and Nemanja Matic’s career coming to an end.

Rangnick worked at RB Leipzig previously, so a reunion at Old Trafford might be on the cards in the future.

Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, was also mentioned, with the 18-year-old improving since joining Birmingham last year.

United had intended to sign the teenager while he was still at Birmingham, but despite showing him around their Carrington training complex, they were unable to do so.

They are now hopeful of luring him away from the Bundesliga giants in the future.

Despite Liverpool’s interest, Jurgen Klopp is hoping to beat Manchester United to the player’s signature next summer.

Kalvin Phillips of Leeds was also recommended, despite the fact that the midfielder appears to be unsure about a move to Old Trafford.

Rangnick is also said to be interested in signing Erling Haaland from Dortmund.

Edinson Cavani, who is desired by La Liga giants Barcelona, might leave Manchester United as soon as January.

Since Ronaldo’s return from Hollywood on deadline day, Cavani has struggled to find regular playing time at United this season.

Haaland, like Bellingham, turned down a 2020 transfer to the club.

But, with the striker on the market for £66 million at the conclusion of the season, United is expected to be in the mix to sign him.

Meanwhile, Rangnick hinted at the potential of reinforcements arriving in January during a press conference last week.

He was evasive in his response, stating, “We haven’t talked about new players, and now isn’t the time to talk about new players.”

“Now is the time to get to know the current group in-depth, and that will be the main focus for the next several weeks, to get to know the guys we have.”

“It’s safe to say that the team isn’t overly small.” There are enough players in the team, and perhaps after Christmas, there will be a chance to discuss possible winter transfers.

“Winter, in my experience, is not the ideal season for long-term moves, so with the quality of players we have here, it would only make sense in theory if you could obtain players who can truly promise you more quality.”

“As I have stated, this will be difficult in the winter,” says the author.
