Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of PSG, is looking to connect up with Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer if he is appointed manager of Manchester United.

Under Antonio Conte, the 28-year-old has looked like his former prolific self, as evidenced by his clinical brace and match-winning goal versus City in a 3-2 victory that threw the Premier League title race wide open.

Kane appears to be comfortable at Spurs following a summer of distractions, but that doesn’t mean he has given up the ambition of leaving the club in the near future.

Kane, according to The Athletic, wants to analyze the circumstances at the north London club at the end of the season before deciding on his long-term future.

Kane’s current contract has two years left after he turned down a lucrative content extension amid City’s failed pursuit of the striker.

Conte’s men want to lock him down but have no plans to forward another offer since they know the ball is firmly in Kane’s court to start negotiations.

Kane is keeping his options open and may extend his stay at Spurs if they can demonstrate that they are a proper landing location for him to win silverware, which has always been of the biggest importance to him.

However, if Kane decides to leave in the summer and a situation similar to that of a year ago happens, he will see out his present contract and walk away as a free agent in 2024, rather than being compelled to depart with a year left on his contract in 2023.

According to The Telegraph, Pochettino, the top candidate to become the next manager of Manchester United, wants to reunite with Kane if he gets the job at Old Trafford.

United have officially begun their hunt for their next manager, but the club recognizes that negotiations will be difficult given the Argentine’s current position at Paris Saint-Germain.

Pochettino has made it obvious that he wants to return to the Premier League, and the general view in the Manchester United locker room is that he should be in charge next season.

And reuniting with Kane would be a tantalizing option for United after their successful five-year partnership at Spurs.
