This season, the 30-year-old has been an important player for Manchester United, and he has been a regular starter under Erik ten Hag.

The Danish international midfielder was pulled down by Reading striker Andy Carroll and replaced by Fred shortly after Manchester United took the lead.

The Manchester United manager has now disclosed (h/t Manchester Evening News) that the full degree of the injury has still to be determined, making a timetable for the midfielder’s comeback impossible.

The Red Devils are still waiting for the results of the diagnosis, and it is unclear whether the 30-year-old will be able to return to play anytime soon.

“It’s always difficult to say so soon after the game,” he said. “But it’s an ankle injury, so we’ll have to wait and see what the diagnosis is.”

Eriksen has provided Manchester United with much-needed craft and technical talent in the middle of the park, and the Red Devils will undoubtedly miss him.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is in good form right now and will be aiming to maintain that momentum in Eriksen’s absence. The 30-year-old midfielder has two goals and nine assists across all competitions.

The Red Devils are still in contention for the FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season, and it will be intriguing to see if Ten Hag can end their trophy drought this season.
