Video: “I’m surprised.” Roy Keane slams Manchester United decision to start Juan Mata
Ralf Rangnick authorized Mata to play against Brentford despite the fact that he had yet to start a league game for United this season.
The Spaniard is slated to leave the club at the end of the season owing to his contract expiring, and Keane was astonished to see him make his first start of the season, especially given that he won’t be back next season, as shown in the Sky Sports video below.
Keane believes they are starting Mata for the wrong reasons, and that it is more about sentiment because he is leaving the club.
Due to the absence of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford’s poor form, it may have been fair to give Mata an opportunity.
