After informing Ralf Rangnick last month that he wanted to leave the club, the French international is likely to join the La Liga side on loan for the remainder of the season.

There is no buyout clause in the agreement, and the Spaniards will pay the 26-year-full old’s salary. Martial was spotted landing at Sevilla Airport earlier today.

On his Vibe with Five podcasts, Ferdinand remarked of the deal, “It’s a solid deal that benefits both the player and the club.” Anthony Martial requires first-team football on a regular basis.

“He hasn’t been a regular for the last year or so, and he definitely needs this transfer.” Having the Ballon D’Or as a contract bonus puts a lot of pressure on someone, yet he hit the ground running.

“When he came in against Liverpool and scored like that, you say to yourself, ‘wow, this kid is going to be world-class.'” He’s shown flashes of brilliance during his Manchester United career, but there have also been times when he’s been lackluster and you wonder if this is good enough.

“I’m hoping he gets better.”

“He’s speedy,” Rio continued. “Sometimes you have to diversify the way you approach opponents, and you can’t always want the ball to feet.”

“He probably didn’t harm defenders in behind as much as he could have.”

Ferdinand believes Martial has the same raw ability as Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, but he believes the Frenchman requires a “mental shift” and “maturity” that must “click” inside him in order for him to “fulfill his potential.”

“He’s a fantastic footballer on his day,” Ferdinand remarked, “but there haven’t been enough of those days.”

Despite the fact that there is no buy option in the Sevilla loan arrangement and United is likely to employ a new permanent manager at the conclusion of the season, Ferdinand does not see Martial returning to the Theatre of Dreams.

“I don’t dispute his potential; you’d want to build a squad around it, but you need the full package and the other components of a player to show up every week and produce,” Rio continued.

“He hasn’t been able to accomplish that.”
