In a busy transfer window, United has already secured Mason Mount from Chelsea and is closing in on Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. Additionally, a new striker, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, is on Ten Hag’s radar.

The defensive reinforcement is now in focus for United, with Disasi, aged 25, emerging as a potential addition to bolster the backline.

Romano shared the latest developments on Twitter, stating, “Newcastle and Manchester United are both exploring Disasi deal, no bids yet.”

While both clubs are interested, United appears to be further along in negotiations, having been in talks with Disasi for weeks.

“Newcastle approached the player’s side this week, expected to make contact with Monaco,” Romano added.

Notably, Ten Hag has given his approval for the potential acquisition of Disasi, and talks with the player have been ongoing for weeks.

Disasi, a France international, showcased a strong performance for Monaco last season, contributing six goals and four assists in 49 appearances.

Described as “dominant” and “complete” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, Disasi’s potential move to United has generated excitement, with Romano mentioning that the player would be eager to join the club.
