Manchester United and Tottenham are reportedly scouting Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi with the goal of moving him to the Premier League.

This season, the 23-year-old has been a revelation for the Serie A club, scoring four goals in all competitions.

Frattesi has also fought his way into Roberto Mancini’s Italy team, but he will miss the World Cup due to his country’s failure to qualify.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, United is considering Frattesi as a replacement for Scott McTominay and Fred, as well as another good squad option for Erik ten Hag.

In United’s engine room, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are currently in charge. Ten Hag, however, wants some younger talent to call on because both players are 30.

Tottenham is also interested in the Sassuolo player.
Conte wants more competition for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur, given that Yves Bissouma has been a disappointment so far.

Frattesi is a box-to-box midfielder who, in many respects, resembles Bentancur and was linked to Tottenham in September.

It now remains to be seen who will be the highest bidder for a player worth £19 million according to Transfermarkt.

However, Sassuolo is very expected to demand more, especially if more than two teams show interest in the player, which will push up his price.
