United has had a bad season, but their loss to Everton last weekend was perhaps a new low point. Everton has been a relegation candidate for some time, and United supporters were enraged by their performance on Sunday.

United take against Norwich on Saturday, and fans have once again mobilized to protest the Glazers’ ownership. The 1958 supporters group is planning a nonviolent protest, and they are asking fans to boycott the first 17 minutes of the game.

Fred was asked about United’s season ahead of the Norwich match, and he issued a message to supporters. Fred limped off hurt after half an hour against Everton, but he could easily be healthy for Saturday’s game.

“I know the supporters expected a lot more from this season,” Fred told the club’s internal media.

“They expected us to achieve more in all competitions, including the cups and the Champions League.” We could have gone further further, but I’m confident that the fans will rally behind us throughout. We’ll do our best to make sure they’re always with us.

“We want them to be right there with us, yelling and celebrating every goal.” I’m confident they’ll be there for us in the upcoming games.”
