Varane has been out for the past five weeks due to a hamstring injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Atalanta, when Cavani last appeared.

Cavani has recovered from a tendon injury, and Shaw, who has missed the last four games owing to a concussion, took part in the Tuesday morning training session.

Jesse Lingard missed the win over Crystal Palace on Sunday due to an ankle injury, but he is back in training with the rest of the club.

United have already won Group F, and interim manager Ralf Rangnick has hinted that he may find it difficult to choose a completely different team due to possible absences.

Rangnick remarked, “It’s quite feasible we send in some fresh guys because the next game is on Saturday, an away game against Norwich.” “It’s feasible; we’ll talk about it at Carrington tomorrow.”

The issue is that we can only use players on the Champions League roster. For example, I’d like to play Phil Jones on Wednesday after his long-term injury, but he’s not on the list, so we’ll have to focus on guys who will be able to play.

“I’m not sure if we’ll play a whole fresh 10 players because I’m not sure we’ll have enough players on the list, but it’s definitely conceivable we’ll play with some new players.”
