Martial had a hip injury in the pre-match warm-up at Goodison Park last Saturday, forcing him to exit the game in the first half. Martial will not be available for Omonia, and a late judgment on his fitness for Newcastle will be made.

“Not today [Martial training], we’ll see how it develops for Sunday,” Ten Hag remarked at his Carrington press conference on Wednesday. “Harry [Maguire] has left the building. And, in the long run, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.”

Although Maguire is currently out with an injury, the Manchester Evening News reported this week that the center-back has been a dressing-room presence in United’s previous two Premier League games, despite his lack of health.

However, Maguire, as well as Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, will be unavailable for Omonia due to ‘longer-term’ issues. Ten Hag is anticipated to choose a strong Omonia team, but youngsters could yet play. Raphael Varane was not spotted in front of the media during the open session of training.

On Wednesday afternoon, Alejandro Garnacho trained with the first team at Carrington, while Zidane Iqbal and Shola Shoretire were also seen working with the squad.

De Gea, Heaton, Dubravka, Martinez, Bennett, Shaw, Dalot, Malacia, Lindelof, Fred, Iqbal, Fernandes, McTominay, Casemiro, Eriksen, Antony, Sancho, Pellistri, Garnacho, Elanga, Shoretire, Ronaldo, and Rashford are the players who have played in this game.

When asked about possible squad rotations for Thursday’s game against Omonia, Ten Hag replied during a press conference, “All out for the victory, the first game is the most important, it’s Europe, it’s tough, we want to be No.1 in the group.”
