Joao Felix breaks silence on Manchester United transfer links with his five words message to Man United fans

During the summer, the forward was linked with a move to Liverpool, but he ultimately stayed in Spain.

Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix says he “did not hear anything” about a summer transfer to Manchester United.

The Reds were linked with the Portuguese international as Erik ten Hag sought to bolster his attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline. Last season, the 22-year-old helped his club knock United out of the Champions League at the Last 16 stage.

He scored in the 1-1 first leg draw in Madrid before playing the entire 90 minutes of the Old Trafford tie, which was won by Renan Lodi, a new Nottingham Forest signing. Felix sparked speculation during the February match when he praised Portugal teammates Bruno Fernandes, admitting they communicated via text.

“With Bruno, we exchanged messages when the draw was made,” he explained. Bruno is a fantastic player. It’s very simple to have fun with him. When he has the ball, he always selects the best option to allow you to score.

“That’s why he gets so many assists,” Ten Hag explained. However, as Felix began his fourth season in Spain, Ten Hag was eventually replaced by preferred target Antony.

The youngster, who had a hat-trick of assists in Atletico’s 3-0 opening day win over Getafe, had 10 goals and six assists last season and is expected to join Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Diogo Dalot on the national team plane for the World Cup.

Felix, on the other hand, appears to be no closer to joining his countrymen at Old Trafford. When asked by Marca about reports linking him with a £113 million move to United, he replied: “I didn’t hear anything, that was something for the president to deal with. I am here.”
