On the United Stand, Romano stated that there is basically little possibility Tielemans will stay at the King Power.

The Belgium international’s contract expires in June 2023, and many outside suitors are waiting to see if he renews it before then.

Brendan Rodgers has continued to face questions over the 24-year-future. old’s Only a few days ago, Rodgers was questioned again about his star midfielder’s views.

“With his contract expiring, I’m sure there will be teams looking at him – but I’m also a realist,” Leicester boss Nigel Pearson told the Express.

“As a football club, we are real. People will wonder if we can keep these players for the next six or seven years, but the reality is that if a player does well at Leicester, he may want to leave and join another team.

“It’s just a matter of being ready for it for us.”

This sounds like a defeatist declaration – the Foxes have all but admitted Tielemans will not be a part of their squad next season.

While the 2015/16 Premier League champions are distraught about the Belgian, competing teams must be giddy. Manchester United, in particular, has been linked to the former Monaco player for some time.

LEICESTER HAS LOST LINCHPIN

The middle of the park is arguably the section of the Red Devils squad that requires the most attention. And Leicester’s number eight is one of the Premier League’s best central defenders.

Following the latest report on Tielemans, the Old Trafford hierarchy’s requests may now be granted.

“I was communicating with my sources about the incident a few days ago. “They told me Tielemans will not sign a new contract with Leicester,” Romano alleged.

“It means he’ll depart the club 99.99 percent of the time in the summer – because they don’t want to lose the player as a free agent in 2023.”

“We have to understand the price since (Leicester) was always asking for around £60 million for Tielemans and now, perhaps because of this contract scenario, £45 million to £50 million could be the price for Tielemans in the summer.”

TIELEMANS TO THE DREAM THEATRE?

Given the money, United has spent on other positions recently – and their desperate need for a new midfielder – they could easily pay Leicester £45 million for Tielemans.

A player of his caliber and age does not come cheap, thus Ralf Rangnick’s employers would be wise to seize this opportunity. Perhaps Harry Maguire can encourage his former teammate to go, however, the defender’s current form may have the opposite effect.

In any case, United, along with a slew of other interested parties, is expected to make a move for Tielemans at the end of the season.
