‘I couldn’t believe it’ – Schmeichel slams two Man Utd star for their contribution to Nottingham Forest goals vs Man United
On Saturday, Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored inside two minutes, leaving Manchester United exposed on the counter-attack.
Andre Onana “made it easy” for Taiwo Awoniyi to open the goal during Manchester United’s match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, according to Peter Schmeichel.
Forest stunned the United fans with an early goal at Old Trafford, with Awoniyi finishing calmly after a spectacular counter-attack. A corner was wasted by the Reds, with the ball bouncing out to Morgan Gibbs-White, whose glanced header fell to the Nigerian.

Christian Eriksen scored United’s equalizer, glancing Rashford’s driving cross into the goal. Casemiro then equalized early in the second half before United took the lead thanks to a penalty from Bruno Fernandes.
“That’s two home games for Man Utd now, They’ve won both but there’s so many things not working,” Schmeichel said after the game. It’s a good three points, but you expect Manchester United to keep going rather than hang on at the finish. It causes you some concern.”
