Ronaldo was unavailable for Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool because he was on compassionate leave following the death of his baby boy, one of twins. Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo’s partner, gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

On Wednesday, the 37-year-old completed a full training session at Manchester United’s Carrington training center, and he trained again on Thursday.

Pogba’s contract expires in June, and his calf injury will keep him out for four weeks, according to interim manager Ralf Rangnick, who previously stated that he will miss the next two games against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Raphael Varane is scheduled to return to the United team after missing the last three games against Liverpool, Norwich, and Everton due to muscle concerns. Varane has been unavailable due to injury in seven of United’s Premier League defeats this season.

Despite not practising due to a foot injury, Scott McTominay was selected on the bench at Anfield. He did, however, partake in training sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

Edinson Cavani (calf), Fred (calf), and Luke Shaw (ankle) are all still out, with both possibly missing the final five games.

According to Rangnick: “Scott McTominay will return to the team and be fit to play; he has been exercising with us and will do so again today; he will be available for the game, as will Raphael Varane. Cristiano Ronaldo has been training with us and is available again.

“All of the others, including Paul Pogba, are still injured. With the scan we took the day before yesterday, it appears that Paul will not be able to play until the end of the season.

“He’ll be out for at least four weeks, according to the doctor, and the last game is scheduled for the end of May. I don’t think he’ll be able to play again this season.”
