This season, all three have faced harsh criticism for either their performances or their apparent sour attitude. Pogba’s contract at Manchester United expires this summer, and it is quite likely that the World Cup champion will leave the club.

Many fans believe the Frenchman has struggled to regularly deliver top-tier performances since joining United. With 18 goals this season, Ronaldo is the club’s leading scorer, but he has not been without criticism from observers, some of whom have suggested that he has had a negative impact on team cohesion and style of play.

Meanwhile, Maguire has arguably received the sharpest criticism, with many on the terraces dissatisfied with his performances this season. A lot has been said about the team’s need for a shake-up when a new manager arrives this summer.

Ten Hag’s links with United have received a lot of attention in the Netherlands, with several Dutch analysts and former players weighing in on United’s managerial pursuit and the present squad. Rene van der Gijp, a former Netherlands winger, has offered Ten Hag some advice if he decides to move to Manchester.

“He (Ten Hag) merely needs to get rid of those troublemakers Ronaldo, Pogba, Maguire,” he told Dutch media (via the Daily Mail).

While Pogba appears to be on his way out at the conclusion of the season, the same cannot be said about captain Maguire and talisman Ronaldo.

There were concerns that the latter would leave his two-year contract early if United, who now lies sixth in the table, failed to qualify for the Champions League. According to rumors, the 37-year-old will stay at Old Trafford even if the club finishes outside the top four.
