The 18-year-old is one of the most talented young players in world football, something that looks set to be represented in his new deal.

According to The Sun, United are playing to give him increase his wages tenfold, taking his salary to £50,000 a week with incremental rises.

They also want to extend the deal by a further three years, taking the contract through until the summer of 2027.

It’s been an impressive season for Garnacho after scoring two and providing two assists in eight appearances this term.

The hope for United is that a hefty new contract will fend off interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked with a move for the player, something that could be tempting considering his Spanish links.

Born in Madrid, Garnacho progressed through the youth set-up with Atletico Madrid before moving to Manchester.

He also represented Spain at youth level up to the under-18 age group, before switching his allegiance to Argentina.
