Erik ten Hag believes Cristiano Ronaldo can play for Manchester United next season.

United displayed Ten Hag during an introductory press conference at Old Trafford on Monday afternoon when Ronaldo’s future was discussed.

Ten Hag stated plainly that Ronaldo may be an asset for United under his management after the 37-year-old scored 24 goals in his first season back in England in 12 years.

“Of course,” Ten Hag responded. Ten Hag replied, when asked what Ronaldo may provide, “goals.” It was then speculated that in the final year of his contract, Ronaldo could take on more of a leadership role. “I talk to Ronaldo first before I talk to you,” Ten Hag answered.

Ten Hag gave little away in a 20-minute press conference other than his objectives for the United squad next season and emphasized that he will take his own conclusions from his analysis.

“I analyze, and I believe we are in the process now with this start before the season begins; we have a few weeks off, so I analyze, I observe, and I will reach conclusions, but I will keep them to myself. It’s the previous season, and we have to move on to the next one.

“The confidence is that I have a good feeling from the people around me, a good feeling from the meetings, and now it’s about getting the plan done, getting it into the process, cooperating, being consistent in our plan, and we have good people around us with the right connection and the right commitment, and we will achieve the success we desire.

“What is the strategy? Huge! We only have a short period, but we will, of course, distribute it between the staff and the players, as you will see.”
