Erik ten Hag insists he is still completing his examination of the Manchester United squad as the summer transfer window approaches.

Former United interim manager Ralf Rangnick proposed recruiting ‘ten new players’ as part of the squad reconstruction, with six players out of contract and leaving next month.

Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani have confirmed their departures, Juan Mata appeared to bid goodbye to fans after the defeat against Crystal Palace, Jesse Lingard’s brother has stated the striker would go. Paul Pogba has also played his final game for the club. Lee Grant, the team’s fourth-choice goalkeeper, is poised to be released.

Dean Henderson has discussed a loan transfer with Newcastle, United is open to offers for full-backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams, center-backs Phil Jones, and Eric Bailly intend to depart, and Anthony Martial might be moved this summer.

“I’m still analyzing to draw conclusions,” Ten Hag explained. “I’m excited to collaborate with these players. This team finished second in the league the previous season, indicating tremendous promise.

“No, I’m not speaking with the players right now; they need time to reflect. I’ll meet with the players around the end of June and the beginning of July.

“I believe that if we improve and work with them, we can get more out of them than we did this season. Yes, recruitment is a critical component. I’d like to collaborate with [the team].

“We had productive meetings and discussions. We’re on the same wavelength. That is a good place to start, and I am optimistic about the project. We have the right personnel and the proper strategy, and now we need to go to work.”

Ten Hag was there at Selhurst Park on Sunday, but he stayed stoic throughout United’s 12th Premier League season’s defeat and was coy during his introductory press conference. “I saw it, I studied it, but it’s only for me.” I wasn’t a judge, but I will use this information in the upcoming season.”
