Ten Hag appears to be on his way to becoming United’s new manager, with the Ajax manager reportedly verbally agreeing to join the club. United intends to have their new appointment confirmed before the end of the season, according to the MEN.

When he comes at Old Trafford, the 52-year-old will have a lot on his plate. That was once again demonstrated at Anfield on Tuesday night.

United were blasted by their old rivals, Liverpool, who dominated in a 4-0 win to enhance their title hopes. United, on the other hand, squandered a chance to draw level on points with Tottenham in the hunt for fourth place with yet another lackluster performance.

United has been roundly chastised for their performance at Anfield, as they failed to pose a threat to their long-time rivals. Following the performance, interim manager Ralf Rangnick predicted that the club will require up to ten new recruits this summer.

Pundits speculated a lot about Ten Hag’s response to his team’s loss on Tuesday. Van Basten even advised that his fellow countryman reconsider his decision to take the post.

“There is a significant disparity between Liverpool and Manchester United. They wander around like they’ve been battered. Van Basten told Ziggo Sport, “This is one of the biggest clubs in England, and not one of them gets enthusiastic” (via Sport Witness ).

“You have to question if Manchester United has any reservations about Erik ten Hag, or if Erik ten Hag should have reservations about Manchester United.” This is disappointing to see for such a large club.”
