Ronaldo Ruthlessly Fires Back At ‘Jealous’ Wayne Rooney After MNF Criticism

Following the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the weekend, Rooney launched a stinging attack on the forward on Monday.

On Sky Sports, the United legend, along with midfielder Paul Pogba, called for Ronaldo to go this summer, stating that his comeback has not benefited the team.

Derby manager Paul Jewell afterward shared an Instagram photo of himself on Monday Night Football with Jamie Carragher and broadcaster David Jones.

Ronaldo used his comment on the page to respond to Rooney’s criticism of the show, writing: ‘Two Jealous.’

Rooney discussed Ronaldo’s influence since returning to England on the show, admitting that the move hasn’t paid off for the Red Devils.

When asked if Ronaldo’s return to the Premier League has benefited United, Rooney replied, ‘You’d have to say no.’

‘He’s scored, and he’s scored crucial goals in Champions League games early in the season.’ He scored three goals against Tottenham.

‘However, if you’re looking to the future of the club, I believe you have to go with younger, hungry players who will do everything they can to lift Manchester United over the next two or three years.’

‘And, clearly, Cristiano is maturing. He’s not the player he was when he was in his twenties. And that is what football is all about. He’s a goal threat, but I believe the rest of the team requires more, namely young, eager players.

‘I believe they have some talented young players.’ I believe Sancho will be a better player next year, as well Marcus.

‘They have several good young players, and I believe Jesse Lingard should play for them because he provides enthusiasm and talent.’ Scott McTominay has performed well, so they have some promising young players.

‘They just need to build that confidence, get them to believe they are good players and can perform at a higher level, and then obviously, whatever the new manager is, he’ll bring his own players in an attempt to rebuild that group.’
