Despite creating numerous chances in the first half, United, who were defeated 4-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road in November, failed to capitalise on any of their chances, with Alex Telles, Bruno Fernandes, and Cristiano Ronaldo among those who came close.

After the half-time break, United continued to turn the screw, but their play grew rushed and desperate as the game progressed, allowing Watford to cling on, keep a clean sheet, and gain an improbable away point.

United’s two-game winning streak in the Premier League came to an end with the draw, but they have now won only one of their previous three home games.

With Manchester United’s home form stuttering, Brazilian Fred, who started alongside Nemanja Matic in midfield, resorted to Instagram to vent his anger, posting a simple message.

“Frustrating not to find a win at home,” he wrote.

This season, United’s home form has been highly questioned, particularly for their inability to score as frequently as they would like at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, the stalemate with the Hornets may have harmed United’s chances of finishing in the top four. The Reds would have tightened their hold on fourth position and moved four points clear of Arsenal if they had won.

Instead, they now only have a two-point lead over Arsenal and three games in hand over United, indicating that the issue is firmly out of their hands.

Due to Liverpool’s involvement in the Carabao Cup final, Arsenal will not be in play this weekend.
