Kolo Muani is one of the numerous players on whom Manchester United has been keeping tabs for some time.

According to Sport Witness, the Reds have made contact with his current club, Eintracht Frankfurt, in order to “manifest” their interest in the player.

Muani only joined Frankfurt at the start of last season, but his performances in the Bundesliga and for France’s national team have piqued the interest of several of Europe’s top players.

It’s been a stratospheric ascent for a player who was bouncing around lower-league clubs in France and Italy three years ago.

Muani is thought to be eager to move on after only one season in the Bundesliga. However, Eintracht Frankfurt’s new manager, Dino Toppmöller, is equally eager to keep him, complicating matters.

Toppmöller is said to be meeting with the player in the coming days in order to persuade him to stay in Frankfurt, with the prospect of increased investment in the squad.

A second difficulty is that, in addition to United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich is also interested in signing him.

According to L’Équipe, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are the frontrunners for his signature, with the midfielder willing to join a club capable of competing in the Champions League.

He has also previously stated that he would love to join a Premier League team.

If United are successful in their pursuit of the 24-year-old hotshot, he will provide much-needed fluidity and on-the-ball ability to Erik Ten Hag’s side.

He scored 21 goals in all competitions last season. He also had 17 assists, implying that his presence could boost United’s currently lackluster offensive unit.

With so much interest in his signature, United will have to work hard to convince him to come to Old Trafford.
