Maxi Oyedele, a Manchester United youth, has signed his first professional contract with the club.

After a fantastic season, the 17-year-old midfielder has been rewarded with a new contract. Oyedele was a major player of the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning squad, appearing in every match of the competition and lifting the trophy earlier this month.

The young midfielder played 26 minutes in the final against Nottingham Forest, contributing significantly as United scored twice late on to win the famous youth championship.

Oyedele had a successful individual season, appearing 22 times for the academy and also making his international debut, being called up to play for Poland U18s. In addition, the child is eligible to play for both Nigeria and England at the international level.

Oyedele disclosed his new deal on social media in midweek, as he prepares for another crucial season at the club.

“Happy to sign my first professional contract with @manchesterunited, the hard work continues!” he captioned an Instagram photo of himself signing the contract.

Following Tyler Fredricson and Kobbie Mainoo, Oyedele is the third member of the Youth Cup-winning team to sign a professional contract since the final.
