Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay have returned to Manchester United training ahead of their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Rashford missed the weekend win over Wolves but returned to the Carrington training pitches on Wednesday, while McTominay is a longer-term absentee, having not played for United since April 8.

Raphael Varane, who was substituted as a precaution late in the game against Wolves by Harry Maguire, was part of the training group. Meanwhile, youngsters Omari Forson and Daniel Gore participated in the first-team practice.

With the recovery of Rashford and McTominay, United’s only injured players are Marcel Sabitzer, Lisandro Martinez, and Donny van de Beek. All three will be out for the rest of the season.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ten Hag will most likely provide an update on Rashford and McTominay’s availability to face Bournemouth.

“I can’t tell [what the latest is] in this moment,” Ten Hag remarked of Rashford ahead of the win over Wolves. He is now unavailable. So, for the time being, we must concentrate on the team that is available. We have a good roster and a good team.

“I can’t tell you how long Rashford will be out for at the moment, and as I said, it’s not my focus point right now.” I’m hoping [he’ll return soon]. Of course, and he will do everything possible. The medical staff is hard at work on it.”

Rashford has 29 goals in all competitions this season, making him the team’s leading scorer by a wide margin.
