The Red Devils have already suffered three Premier League losses, marking their highest number of defeats within the first five games of a league season since 1989-90 under the management of Alex Ferguson. This challenging start is reminiscent of the 1986-87 season when they lost four of their first six league games, eventually finishing 11th.

Burnley, on the other hand, secured their first point of the 2023-24 season in a draw against Nottingham Forest on Matchday 5. They are among the five teams in the Premier League yet to secure a victory this season, alongside Luton Town, Bournemouth, Everton, and Sheffield United. However, Burnley has played one game less than 18 of the other 19 Premier League teams due to the rescheduling of their Matchday 2 clash with Luton Town.

Burnley will face this challenge without their two-goal top scorer, Lyle Foster, who is serving a three-match suspension following a red card in the Forest match. Zeki Amdouni, who scored Burnley’s goal in the 1-1 draw, will aim to continue making an impact; he shares the highest number of shots attempted for Burnley this season alongside Foster, both having taken seven shots.

For Manchester United, Marcus Rashford leads the team in shot attempts in the Premier League this season, with a total of 23 shots, but has only managed to score once. He will seek to increase his goal tally, with the support of playmaker Bruno Fernandes, who has created an impressive 16 chances in league competition this season—twice as many as any other Manchester United player.

André Onana, who joined Manchester United from Serie A giants Inter Milan, has encountered a challenging start to his career at the club. The Cameroonian goalkeeper has conceded 14 goals from 39 shots on target faced, including a notable error in their recent 4-3 loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Rasmus Højlund, who scored his debut goal for Manchester United in the Bayern Munich match, is expected to lead the attacking line on Saturday. Meanwhile, Casemiro, the two-goal hero against Munich, is likely to retain his place in the lineup. However, manager Erik ten Hag is facing several injury concerns, with defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, and Tyrell Malacia sidelined. Additionally, Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount, and Raphael Varane have fitness doubts, while Antony and Jadon Sancho remain unavailable.
