Should Cristiano Ronaldo leave Manchester United this summer, he is garnering interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Roma.

The Portuguese international’s romantic return to Old Trafford hasn’t gone as planned, with United unlikely to win anything this season and fighting for a top-four finish.

Ronaldo, 37, has been linked with a move away from Manchester this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

According to The Sun, his representative Jorge Mendes met with United chief Richard Arnold to discuss the team’s uneven form.

They claim there would be plenty of interest in signing the £500,000-a-week player, with PSG the most likely destination, but a reunion with ex-Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho at Roma also a possibility.

‘Ronaldo is genuinely conflicted over his future,’ a source told The Sun. He would love nothing more than to win trophies with United, but it appears like this will be difficult at the moment.

‘He doesn’t want to end his illustrious career in the middle of the pack.’

‘Some major clubs are keeping an eye on the issue and have already put out feelers.’

Ronaldo returned to United from Juventus in August, signing a two-year contract that may be cut short a year early.

United are now fifth in the Premier League rankings, one point behind West Ham in the final Champions League spot, under temporary manager Ralf Rangnick.

However, they have failed to hold on to a lead in their last three games, losing the FA Cup fourth round meeting to Middlesbrough on penalties and drawing 1-1 with Burnley and Southampton in the league.

Between 2010 and 2013, Ronaldo played for Mourinho at the Bernabeu, winning the LaLiga title and the Spanish Cup. Their relationship, though, was tumultuous at times.

Mourinho’s current club, Roma, is now seventh in Serie A and unlikely to qualify for the Champions League based on their current form.

Bayern normally does not pay such big compensation, therefore PSG appears to be the most likely option.

If Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid, Ronaldo might be paired with Lionel Messi at the Parc des Princes.
