It begins with him stating that the 19-year-old is the Red Devils’ “transfer target number one.” The Old Trafford club’scouted him extensively,’ and because Erik ten Hag ‘wants him,’ they estimate him to cost roughly €150 million.

There are, however, two fundamental issues. Financial Fair Play is one of them.

The other factor is competition from Manchester City and Liverpool, and Plettenberg believes Manchester United’s chances in the race are ‘poor.’

However, there are a few clubs that are regarded to be out of the race. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are considered to have “hardly any chances.”

So, if Manchester United needs to beat out any competition to land Bellingham next year, it appears that their major rivals will be their Premier League opponents.

The €150 million allegation appears to be an overly optimistic asking price.
