Mateo Mejia, a 20-year-old talent with a four-and-a-half-year tenure at United, completed his transfer to Sevilla.

Mejia, who originally joined United’s academy from Real Zaragoza in 2019, overcame injury setbacks to become a regular for the Under-21s.

His notable contributions included 15 appearances and goals against Arsenal and Leicester City in the previous season.

Despite his eligibility to represent Colombia, Mateo, who trained with Erik ten Hag’s first team, played a pivotal role for the Under-21s this season, scoring thrice in 12 appearances.

The club’s official website conveyed their best wishes to Mateo Mejia for his future endeavors, expressing keen interest in his upcoming career.

The rapid succession of United players making moves to Sevilla highlights an interesting shift in player dynamics.

Hannibal Mejbri, who opted out of the Africa Cup of Nations to secure his club future, also shared his enthusiasm for joining Sevilla’s project.

Emphasizing his readiness to contribute to the team, Hannibal highlighted his adaptability to various positions, with a preference for roles like 8 or 10 in the center of the field.
