First Summer Deal Announced – Man United close in on transfer as Portuguese star ‘already negotiating’ move

According to rumors in Spain, Manchester United is "already negotiating" a trade for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese midfielder has been frequently linked with a transfer away from Molineux in the previous 12 months, and while his contract is set to expire this summer, he is largely expected to go. Wolves may reluctantly listen to bids for Neves this summer, given that he may depart for free in 2024.

According to SPORT, United has benefited from Barcelona’s withdrawal from the race by landing the Portuguese international. According to the article, Neves is “already negotiating what may be his transfer to United beginning next summer.”

Erik ten Hag wants to strengthen his midfield despite the fact that Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Marcel Sabitzer have all joined the club in the last year. A deal for Neves appears to be gaining traction, given that Wolves are aware that their star player may be playing his final games for the club this season, as Julen Lopetegui’s team fights for survival at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

Neves has been with Wolves for six years, joining former Porto manager Nuno Espirito Santo. He has made 245 appearances for Wolves since signing from FC Porto in 2017, but as he enters the final year of his contract, clubs are hoping to sign him after the Premier League season concludes.

According to the Mirror, the Portuguese is valued at £50 million and has been linked to a number of big teams ahead of the summer transfer season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona appears to have lost interest given the number of issues that the Spanish giants must resolve before considering acquiring quality players this summer.
