A new analysis refuted claims that Manchester United would be better off without Cristiano Ronaldo.

The results of a study conducted by LiveFootballTickets to determine how many points Premier League teams would have earned this season if their marquee players had not played.

Despite the criticism he’s gotten this season, United would be eight points worse off without Ronaldo’s help, putting them in eighth place in the Premier League table.

The 37-year-old had gone six games without scoring before scoring against Brighton on Tuesday.

Ronaldo’s impact at United is far greater than his Premier League goals, with his six Champions League goals sparing Ralf Rangnick’s side from elimination.

If Mohamed Salah’s contribution was removed from the equation, Liverpool’s Premier League points total would suffer a similar blow, with Jurgen Klopp’s team losing eight points.

Without Mason Mount, Chelsea would be no worse off this season, but Manchester City would win two points without their top player Raheem Sterling.
