Confirmed – Man Utd submit ’30 million offer’ for Dutch World Cup defender in cash-plus-player deal

Man United have reportedly made a "30 million bid" to Inter Milan for Denzel Dumfries as they try to improve at right-back.

The Red Devils are in need of a new right-back after failing to secure one during the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag spent time analyzing his squad before the season began, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one player he dislikes.

The ex-Crystal Palace academy product was signed for about £50 million a couple of years ago, but his shortcomings since then have been highlighted.

Wan-Bissaka has rapidly slipped down the pecking order, and he has made 0 appearances this season.

Former Manchester United player Paul Parker recently stated that Wan-Bissaka “hasn’t been coached.”

“I’d argue Wan-Bissaka hasn’t been taught how to play as a full-back at Manchester United.” Nobody has really spoken to him. Parker told MyBettingSites, “He hasn’t been coached.”

“However, it’s about what he’s learning. How will he alter his game to improve as a full-back like Wan-Bissaka for Manchester United?

“As a Crystal Palace full-back, playing for Manchester United is a different kind of full-back.”

In the summer, he was linked with a return to Palace, but he was denied permission to go since United was unable to find a successor.

Sergio Dest was linked to United before joining AC Milan on loan. They are now alleged to be following Dumfries.

The quick full-back earned a reputation for himself for the Netherlands at the European Championships last year. His performance at that event won him a move to Inter Milan, where he starred in his debut season in Serie A in 2021/22.

Dumfries is now performing well in the World Cup, with Louis van Gaal’s side reaching the quarter-finals.

Man United appear to be interested in him, and journalist Ciro Venerato claims that they have already made a bid for him ahead of the January transfer deadline. In a swap deal, Diogo Dalot would go the other way in this prospective move.

“As for Dumfries, Inzaghi regards him as critical to the Scudetto recovery project this season,” Venerato explained (via Sport Witness).

“I don’t believe United’s offer of $30 million or more for Dalot can be accepted.” I believe the organization will evaluate him in June, but if no significant offers materialize, he will be confirmed for the remainder of the season.”

United is clearly interested in acquiring Dumfries, and based on his performances in international tournaments, he would be an excellent acquisition.

However, it is difficult to envisage Manchester United agreeing to allow Dalot to leave in the process.

Since Ten Hag’s arrival, the Portugal international has been one of United’s top players this season.

Dalot is more likely to stay and compete with whoever Man United brings in to replace Wan-Bissaka.
