New club Announced and Confirmed – David De Gea ‘could join new club this week’ – two months after leaving Man Utd

David De Gea could be on the verge of finding a new club just two months after leaving Manchester United.

Despite the transfer window being closed, De Gea, who is currently a free agent, is eligible to negotiate contracts with potential clubs. Real Betis is reportedly considering this option as they grapple with a goalkeeping crisis ahead of their Europa League campaign.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis is ready to take decisive action by potentially signing De Gea. The club is facing a shortage of goalkeepers, with Claudio Bravo, the current first-choice keeper and a former Manchester City player, having missed a recent match against Barcelona due to injury. Furthermore, Bravo’s backup, Rui Silva, had to be substituted at halftime because of a groin injury.

With the goalkeeping situation becoming increasingly dire, Spanish media reports suggest that Betis cannot afford to wait until the January transfer window and is actively pursuing De Gea to bolster their squad ahead of their upcoming clash with Rangers on Thursday.

De Gea, who bid farewell to Manchester United fans with an emotional message after his departure, has been a free agent since leaving the club. In his message, he expressed his deep gratitude for the love and support he received during his 12-year tenure at the club and revealed his excitement about embarking on a new challenge.
