The 22-year-old left-back had a standout season, helping the Eredivisie giants reach the Europa Conference League final. Malacia, who can also play right-back, made 50 appearances for Feyenoord in all competitions, assisting five times and scoring once.

After the Reds apparently completed a contract, Malacia appeared poised to follow Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong through the doors at Old Trafford.

But, as United struggles to complete a deal for the Dutch maestro and deal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s shocking declaration that he wants to leave the club, Malacia appears destined to be the first new signing of the Ten Hag era.

According to BBC reports, a deal for Malacia will be concluded within the next 24 hours. A cost of roughly £15 million will be sufficient to lure the Dutch international to Old Trafford.

The new United manager is a big fan of Malacia, and he even hinted that he wanted to sign him when he was still in charge of Ajax. “We do think he’s a good player,” Ajax’s then-head coach told reporters.

“Is Malacia on our list of potential targets?” I’m not going to tell you anything.” This is great news for Ten Hag, who has also been told that Ronaldo intends to leave Old Trafford less than a year after his return.

Ronaldo appeared to be the focal point of Ten Hag’s United attack, but the Dutch manager may be forced to explore elsewhere for targets. Furthermore, he has faced numerous setbacks in his pursuit of De Jong.

Several reports initially indicated that an agreement had been reached with the La Liga giants. However, Blaugrana president Joan Laporta shot down those rumors, insisting that he was not for sale.

“Manchester United isn’t the only club interested in him,” Laporta recently revealed. “We have no plans to sell him; he wants to stay.” I’ll go to any length to keep Frankie.”
